Torrents not working on Windows 7

My mate is using a new laptop with Windows 7. He cant use any torrent sites, like bitlord or bittorrent, nothing works, the seach part of them is disabled for some reason. Any ideas ? Have Windows 7 nailed this ? Im on XP and can use them all, same router, same ISP.

I know of quite a few people using Windows 7 and a bittorrent client and they have no issues.

BitLord should not be used as that has not been updated since 2005.

I know uTorrent, Vuze, BitComet and Tixati are all 7 compatible.

BitTorrent (which is a uTorrent clone now) does not come with search sites enabled at default, they have to be added.

However, I am not quite sure what the issue is.

Has your friend gone to a torrent search site and downloaded a torrent and opened it in a bittorrent client?
