There has been a recent spat of new users sending private messages about a virus being found to other users here.

Any such messages are not from this site and should be ignored.

The spammers know their posts will be immediately deleted here on the board, so they are trying an end around.

For now, private messaging will be disabled.

Update: Private messages were disabled shortly after this post and re-enabled a week later in the hope the spammers had gone away.

However, the spammers immediately returned with 3 new private messages.

Private messaging is disabled again.

You may see a notice of 3 private messages, but be unable to see them. There is nothing to see as they are spam. Private messages were disabled so you would not see them.
